Bali 3D2N Itinerary: Quick Weekend escape

The Ultimate 3D2N Bali Itinerary

Kuta Beach • Hard Rock Hotel • Tanah Lot • Ulun Danu Beratan

Short on annual leave but still craving a Bali escape? This 3D2N Bali itinerary is built for exactly that — a fast-paced weekend getaway that covers beaches, temples, and a legendary hotel stay without wasting a single hour. To keep planning painless, we booked a customised Bali tour package from Singapore, which made the whole trip seamless from touchdown to takeoff.

We caught a morning flight (around 9:00 AM) out of Singapore Changi Airport — in our experience, the best flight timing for a short Bali trip. It lands in Denpasar early enough to still enjoy a relaxed, sun-filled first afternoon.

Where to Stay: Hard Rock Hotel Bali Review (Kuta Beach)

For our short Bali getaway, we stayed at the legendary Hard Rock Hotel Bali located right in the heart of the high-energy Kuta area.

Roam Venture Value Note: The location is unbeatable. It sits directly across from the iconic Kuta Beach coastline and is well within walking distance to the modern Beachwalk Shopping Center for local dining and retail therapy.

  • The Rooms: The default twin rooms are incredibly spacious, coming standard with two queen-size beds—plenty of room to stretch out after a long day of exploring.
  • Resort Amenities: The hotel features a massive, free-form tropical swimming pool, excellent on-site spa facilities, and premium rock-themed entertainment spaces.

Overall, it’s an exceptionally comfortable resort, and we highly recommend booking a stay here if you want convenience and luxury combined!

Day 1: Kuta Beach Sunset & Late-Night massage

After checking into our room, we strolled over to the nearby Beachwalk Shopping Mall to grab some local Indonesian street food and browse the boutiques.

As golden hour approached, we walked right down to the sand at Kuta Beach to watch the sunset. The sunset views here are truly spectacular and an absolute must-do recommendation for any short Bali holiday!

To wrap up our first evening, we returned to the resort for a brief rest before heading out into the vibrant streets for a deeply relaxing, traditional Balinese massage.

Day 2: The Cultural Tour to Bedugul & Tanah Lot Sea Temple

For our only full day on the island, our private driver took us on a spectacular half-day cultural tour up north to explore Bali’s most iconic temples.

1. Pura Ulun Danu Beratan Temple (Bedugul Highlands)

The journey from our Kuta hotel up to the Bedugul region takes roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes without heavy traffic traffic. The switch from the coast to the mountains is incredible—the scenery transitions into lush greenery and the climate feels refreshingly cool.

Nestled high in the misty Bedugul highlands, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple feels like stepping straight into a postcard. Because it sits gracefully on the shores of Lake Beratan, high tide creates a stunning illusion where the multi-tiered thatched shrines appear to float directly on the glassy lake water. Framed by volcanic peaks and manicured lakeside gardens, it is an absolute dream for travel photography and easily one of the most serene cultural landmarks in Bali.

2. Pura Tanah Lot Temple (Offshore Sea Temple)

After enjoying a local lunch, we took another 1-hour drive down towards the coast to witness the dramatic Tanah Lot Temple.

Tanah Lot offers a brilliant dose of rugged coastal nature. Depending on the ocean tides, you can either walk right across the wet, rocky sand to receive a traditional water blessing at the base or watch from the clifftop watchpoints as high tide turns the sacred complex into an unreachable floating island.

The sheer raw power of the Indian Ocean crashing against the rock formations paired with the deep spiritual heritage makes it an incredibly memorable travel stop. The tide was rising rapidly during our visit, so we couldn’t cross over to the temple gates, but the panoramic views from the cliffs were gorgeous!

Late Night Shopping along Jalan Pantai Kuta

That evening, we decided to skip the external crowds and enjoy a relaxed dinner inside the hotel restaurants. Afterward, we stepped out for a late-night stroll down Jalan Pantai Kuta. This bustling street runs right outside the resort gates and is packed with local boutiques, wellness spas, and bars that stay open until 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM. It’s the perfect place to safely loiter around and soak in the night energy!

Day 3: Morning Checkout & Departure

Because our return flight was scheduled for around noon, we checked out of our hotel early in the morning and headed straight to the airport. While Day 3 didn’t leave room for sightseeing, the dense itinerary of the first two days made this short escape feel incredibly complete.
